”Team Louie was an absolute gift to our family in terms of allowing us to get rid of all of my mom's things in a way that honored her, honored the house and honored the items. We've recently had to relocate my mom out to California so we can provide care for her. The hardest part about the move was getting my mom to downsize her things. We didn't expect the process to be so emotional for my mom but it was, and Team Louie had the empathy and understanding to truly help her let go of the things. Team Louie came highly recommended from our realtor as the best estate sale company for our needs that also included getting the house ready to list. I also had the opportunity to talk extensively with Donna the owner of Team Louie, and I knew she understood exactly what we were going through with my mother and her condition.
An estate sale was definitely the way to go for our situation since my mom will be downsizing to a much smaller place and my siblings and I do not feel any connection to the things in the home. My mom had an extensive antique collection as well that required a company with knowledge about how to appropriately price the items. Donna, Bob and the rest of the Team Louie staff were a joy to work with from start to finish. My mom made the decision to work with Team Louie because Bob had expertise in the antiques that my mom collected and they both used to go to the antique markets and even recognized one another! His expertise in collectibles meant everything to us. The other reason we chose Team Louie is they work with a non-profit Freedom Treasures that employs developmentally disabled individuals to run a retail store for the items that do not sell in the estate sale. My father would have appreciated empowering people with disabilities since he worked extensively in universal design and the da Vinci awards affiliated with the national multiple sclerosis society, which had as its heart a focus on empowering individuals with disabilities.
The feedback I received from friends attending the sale was that everything was extremely well organized and that Team Louie had top-notch professionals running the sale. The other services they provided included throwing out the trash from the house in dumpsters and cleaning up the house from top to bottom both before and after the estate sale to get the house ready to list. They were very responsive before, during and after the sale, and I would recommend them in a heartbeat. My sister and I live far away and having a trustworthy service provider to help us manage it all from afar has made the difficult process of downsizing so much easier. We are so grateful to Team Louie.
